Some cute stories from yesterday: during dress rehearsal, Brendan said "yahoo!" in the starfish/seahorse song when he was supposed to say "a-oo" (aka, bay at the moon like a coyote) and one of the seahorses, who happened to look and behave a lot like one of my younger cousins, rolled her eyes at him and gave me a look that said "seriously?"
Another seahorse told me to stop singing backstage because I was breaking my own rule about backstage being the silent zone. Yet another asked me (in a very well-executed whisper, I might add) if I liked boys. She later confessed to me that she liked Gil (he was a very nice, cute 7th grader). And another seahorse told me backstage that the mermaid they all sing with (aka, Celia) was his friend and that he had another friend, who I think he referred to as "one of the helper girls" and he would not sit back down in his backstage spot until he located and pointed her out to me.
The seahorses last week were definitely not our best ever, but they were well behaved, and I'll be darned if they were not the cutest group we've ever had. So many smart kindergardeners! (p.s. I tried to spell that with a "t" instead of a "d", ala the germans.
