omigod you guys

I do not recall the last time I updated.  This was due to several things: 1. Our first week in Idaho we did seven workshops and three performances, so I was pretty beat.  2.  The week after that we were un-booked.  3.  This week has been crazy, but the craziness is subsiding and I do believe this may turn out to be one of our best weeks ever.

Our first in Idaho was SO busy, as I mentioned.  But it was well worth it, since our CEO came and saw our show (he also WROTE "The Little Mermaid" among numerous other Missoula shows), said he really enjoyed it and wanted both our leads to audition for performing arts camp this summer AND, I am going to be selfish for a moment, best of all he said that I was "a terrific performer" and was so much fun to watch.

You know it was actually our CEO himself who said that many people go into this job thinking they want to be actors and come out of it wanting to be teachers.  He said that if you miss playing complicated parts, then maybe you really are meant to be an actor.  I think I am, and that's a nice thing to know.  I wasn't so sure towards the end of college, but I know that by the time I have finished touring with Missoula, I will be more than ready to get back into auditioning.

Anyway I had a fantastic week off, visiting old JMU pals in the DC area and down in the good ole 'burg.  I have to say, it was delightful having cheap boneless wings and three dollar margaritas on Thursday...felt just like old times.  Except for the fact that hardly anyone my age was around.  I really did spend most of my senior year hanging out with other seniors, so it was very strange to be at JMU without them.  Nice as it was to visit, I know that I graduated at the right time.

We're in a ski resort town this week, and it's pretty swell.  Lots of yummy restaurants to which we have gift certificates- one of them is a mexican place with blackberry margaritas (okay, I sound like and alcoholic)!  And the kids are SO much fun.  We got to give away the part of the Royal Marriage Broker yet again, and the best way I can describe this girl's interpretation of the character is to compare her to the priest from "The Princess Bride".  Minus the outrageous speech impediment, but she does have a british accent and I love it.  And the boy playing Gil is seriously a rock star.  He was wicked cool hair and his placement on the notes isn't in that floaty boy soprano place, but in a brighter, chestier place that is so very musical theatre.
