"The Hoods", Episode 1

Imagine if you will this scenario.

The fat girl on the soap opera (you know, the one who is approximately a size 6) is seated against the wall, crying.  She is amongst the other young women in the posse known as "the wolfgang".  Ranger Rooney (that's Sam) discovers said girl in despair and asks her what is wrong.  She's been found out.

This wolfgang member has been betrayed by Baby Hood in whom she confided her love for the dashing young Robin Hood.  She told her in confidence, yet the pretty, slender Baby Hood, who harbors a secret love for her English cousin chose, in all the cattiness associated with such young and attractive types, to stab her so-called friend in the back to attract some attention from Robin in her direction.  Word on the street is he may have some secret affection for his little cousin as well.

Little Lovable Wolf, the pipsqueak leader of the wolfgang attempts to console her friend.  She tells her: "Boys are stupid, he probably thinks you just like him as a friend."  The wolfgang girl is inconsolable.  "I have a brother, and he's not stupid!" she protests.  "Well," the ever encouraging Little Lovable continues, "I have a brother too, and he's smart, but all boys just sometimes are stupid and don't get things."  The wolfgang girl manages to compose herself as Ranger Rooney heartily agrees with Little Lovable.  All the other wolfgang girls are skeptical.

Then Ranger Rooney makes one grave error: She mentions our heroic Englishman's name.  The wolfgang girl is once again drowning in her tears.  It comes time for the wolfgang to make their first entrance and Little Lovable can hardly do her dance out of concern for her friend.  She half-heartedly goes through the motions, her eyes never once leaving the face of her grieving companion.

It is the end of the day for our crew and Ranger Rooney has given the wolf an ultimatum.  She will speak to the conniving Baby Hood about her callous actions on the condition that should Baby apologize to the wolf, the wolf must forgive her.  After listening to our closing speech and fighting back tears every time Robin voiced a question or suggestion, our unfortunate heroine is alone.  Baby Hood has been spoken to and she approaches the wolf.  "I'm sorry," she mutters, without a scrap of sincerity, her eyes never leaving the speckled linoleum floor.  The wolf says nothing, but turns away in anguish, making a hasty exit following in the footsteps of her ignorant elder brother....

...to be continued on the next episode of "The Hoods".

(p.s. everyone involved in this love triangle is nine years old.  aren't they too young for such drama?)
