a word from our sponsors

I would just like to point out that today Sam made what she considers to be her greatest discover of the summer.  That Hayao Miyazaki's film "Spirited Away" is not, in fact, about a horse.

We were discussing the gloriousness of "Princess Mononoke" and "Howl's Moving Castle" (this all segued out of a conversation about "Ferngully").  Sam has told me repeatedly that she has never seen "Spirited Away" and I told her that she really needs to see it and she would really enjoy it.  So I start to explain the plot to my incredulous co-pilot and she suddenly exclaims "Wait! It's not about a horse?"  She's been avoiding seeing it all of these years because she confused it with "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron".  Yup, she's been confusing Miyazaki's touching and visually stunning work with a movie featuring the voice of Matt Damon as a horse.
