blame canada...

...if I never have another good week in the states, that is.  Aside from the muffin-y sea horses (one of whom had an absolute melt down during the announcements preceding the show and amidst sobs flat out REFUSED to go on stage) these kids were phenomenal.  We do this over acting contest with groups during the second Friday rehearsal if they're doing pretty well, and this group was ready to do the best one of those runs that I have seen on this tour on THURSDAY.  They were absolutely hilarious.  Our girl playing Gil, who is a total rock star to begin with, turned into this funky, studly, Elvis-like character by the of of the run.  I was literally doubled over on the floor laughing.

I don't know what it is.  Maybe there is something in the water here that makes the kids fabulous at memorizing lines and a ton of fun to work with.

But let's be serious, after our two weeks of crazies, Shirnest and I deserve a fun week.  I haven't been stressed at all (because, let's face it, if the sea horses just come out on stage, stand there and do nothing right, they still look pretty darn cute).  I can't believe the week is almost over!

Of course last night's show was stellar.  The dress rehearsal was just shambly enough that I wasn't afraid that the kids would get too confident and have a sloppy show.  Actually the show was so clean last night (I mean if you didn't know the script you REALLY would have NO idea that any mistakes were made- there was nothing major AT ALL) that I'm gonna have to have a serious talk with the kids about second night slump.

And to top off the fun that was had last night at the show, Shirnest and I went to the 9:15 showing of "High School Musical 3" with Gil, Celia, Amelia and a Scout (who are all really sweet grade seven girls).  It was SUCH a blast!  Everyone should see it simply for the number "The Boys are Back".  The whole thing basically depicts Troy and Chad reliving their childhood, playing superheroes and samurais, fighting dragons, etc. etc. (it was very nostalgic for me- sword fights were a big part of my childhood).  I am seriously impressed with the choreographer.  He choreographs such clever pieces!

I was sitting between Celia and Amelia.  Amelia is a HUGE HSM fan.  Every single time they led into a song she would say "Oh man, I know this one, I already know all the words!  But I won't spoil it for you!"
