cherry lime ade and an air conditioned basement

Well it is suddenly MISERABLY hot outside and my voice is not doing so well.  It was okay at the beginning of the week, but I think I pushed it a little too much at the beginning of the week when I was teaching, since it really felt fine, but suddenly today it started to go.  Well it went out a little last night actually.

So I am on self prescribed vocal rest, I am not going anywhere and avoiding the company of anybody so I won't be tempted to speak.  Guess I will devote the night to really working on "Little Mermaid".

By the by, this has turned out to be a very inconsistent group of kids.  They'll be awesome on one scene then terrible on the next, and then the next time we run through, they are awesome on the scene they used to be terrible at and terrible on the scene they were awesome at.  It's so frustrating!  Also they CLEARLY are not practicing at home.  Some of them are, and those kids are phenomenal.  But the majority of them just kind of know their lines and have NO idea what ANY of their cues are.  Oi.

This is one week where we really are saying: thank goodness we have a Saturday show.
