everyone here says "thee-ay-ter"

Today Sam and I had lunch at the Lion's Club.  They're the ones who sponsor bring Missoula into this community every summer.  It was unreal.  First of all after they say the pledge of allegiance, they then turn around, face the Texas lone star flag and say the TEXAS pledge of allegiance.  I didn't even know their WAS such a thing!  Then this guy with a pirate mustache (no seriously, it had perfect little curly-ques) gave Sam and I a bunch of raffle tickets.  Then we stood up to give a presentation.  They asked us to sing the Red Riding Hood song, which I had mentioned when I was talking about my little star-struck Girlfriend 1.  So we did.  Then I was talking about how MCT is a great company for married couples who are both actors, since you can be on the road with your spouse, and not working at theatres across the country from one another.  Then a man asked me "Does your husband tour with you?"  To which I awkwardly replied "Uh...I don't have a husband."  A bunch of people then said, "Oh well you stay here and we'll fix ya up."  Yikes.  The whole thing was seriously a scene from a movie.  The people there were not human beings, they were characters.  Thank goodness I have a certificate (which they awarded to each of us at the end of our presentation) proving that I was there!

Rehearsal was a baby-shamble-fest.  Mostly the problem is all the distractions that there are at the Boys and Girls club with kids who aren't in the show running around in the other rooms playing games.  I am thinking that tomorrow, when we are actually working in the playhouse, things will go a lot more smoothly.

And then the most hilarious moment of the day: Sam and I were driving over to the playhouse to set up our set and unload our costumes when it suddenly dawned on me that we had missed our call-in.  So I told Sam to just do and right now and apologize profusely for calling almost an hour late.  We're having a hard week and we actually had rehearsal at the time that we were scheduled to do the call-in.  So Marissa put us through to the tour office and Dylan said, "Uh Sam, you guys actually called about five minutes early."  We changed time zones.  Call-ins are on MOUNTAIN time and we are on CENTRAL.  So crisis averted.

Plus Sam and I get a gold star and our answer printed in bold in the next news letter since we actually have Sunday meetings while driving to our next residency.  Apparently we were only the second team all week that said that.  Go us!

I always heard that Texas was like its own country. I guess it is true!
