oi....

It amazed me how well behaved six and seven year olds can be.  Even though they were apparently rowdy and uncooperative yesterday, they came in today, remembered all of their stuff, and sat quietly through the entire beginning of the show.  Having them there to talk to REALLY helped me get through my massive opening monologue.  I am absolutely in love with the little Raccoon leader- she really gets the whole sneaky and mischievous thing.  Her little laugh as she steals Red Riding Hood's picnic basket is priceless.

The show is tomorrow.  I can't say I'm feeling confident about it, though I did discover today that I DO know all of my lines.  It's hard for me to let go and just be an actor now and let Sam and Sarah handle the directing side.  Especially since I taught so much of the show.  Our accompanist is darling- she must be 85 years old, but she plays really well.  She is a LITTLE hard of hearing, though she told me she has any trouble hearing my cues.  Gee, what a surprise!

We don't have to go to the youth center until 1:00 tomorrow afternoon, unlike our usual 8:30-8:45 in the morning.  No peanut butter and jelly tonight- we're going out! (nothing TOO crazy though- I do have a show to do tomorrow, and my voice is already pretty shot from screaming at the kids to quiet down all week!)
