wow

Tonight, a minor miracle occurred.  We had the worst dress rehearsal ever.  It took us FOREVER to get through it.  I was convinced that the show was going to run over two hours the way people were dropping cues left and right.  And then, come 6:00, everything ran more or less smoothly and the show finished in an hour as it should have.  Lines that people had NEVER gotten right in run-throughs were suddenly there.  I didn't have to do too much scene saving.

The best moment of the show for me was when I came backstage after I had done my gigantic monologue at the top of show (which almost became a scene between me and the baby in the front row, who's mom basically let him wander right up onto the set).  I went off-stage and saw one of the boys who was in the shadow group, standing backstage.  He was the special oat, who got to come forward and be tough when I mentioned "the wild oats".  His face was priceless.  I can't even describe how awe-struck he looked.

Most ridiculous moment (and other RR teams, you'll appreciate this): The wolfgang decided that in the scene where they were disguised as sheep, instead of running out on stage in their usual pattern and stopping and grazing, they would just crawl out randomly on their hands and knees....a scene too early.  They eventually figured out that they were wrong (probably because Sam was screaming at them from off-stage) and came back on at the right time.  We basically ignored them and continued with the play.
